BBQ Ribs

This recipe is for 5 lbs ribs

Marinade recipe

  • 1/4 c butter

  • 1/4 c vinegar

  • 1/4 c olive oil

  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1/4 tsp paprika

  • pinch of thyme


Preheat oven to 260 f. Prepare the marinade in a mixing bowl by adding oil of the above ingredients. Line two 9 x 13 inch pans with aluminium foil. Set ribs into both pans. Cut into sections to fit pans if necessary. Pour or brash marinade over all rib surfaces. Cover meat during marinating with plastic wrap. For best results return meat to refrigerator during marinating - 30 min


Bbq Sauce Recipe

  • 1 1/2 c brown sugar

  • 1/2 c sugar

  • 1 1/2 tbsp corn syrup

  • 1 tbsp molases

  • 1 1/2 tsp honey

  • 3/4 c tomato paste

  • 1/4 c water

  • 1/4 c vinegar

  • 3/4 tsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 1/2 tsp salt


Mix all ingredients with a power mixer. Heat the mixture in a saucepan at medium heat for 15 min stirring occasionally. BBQ sauce will be applied toward the end of cooking as specified in the cooking directions below.


Cooking directions (~ 2h 15min)


After marinating for 30 min, remove wrap covering from pans and place ribs in oven at 260 F with the meatiest side up.

After 1h of cooking, flip ribs so that the meaty side is down.

After 30 additional min do the following:

apply BBQ sayce on the bony side and flip the ribs so that the meaty side is up. Increse the temperature to 350 F.

After 15 min apply a layer of BBQ sauce to the meaty side. Apply a second layer after another 15 min.


After a total cooking time of 2 hrs 15 min, check the center of the meat with a thermometer - 150 F.
